Resource Mobilization for Research

  • CPE Grant of Rs. 1.5 crores (Rupees One Crore Fifty Lakhs) of was granted by  the UGC in the First Phase under XI plan(CPE grant F.No. 12-1/2008(NS/PE) Dt: 15-10-2010).
  • The Research Facility was allocated Rs. 2000000/- (Rupees Twenty Lakhs) under Non-recurring grant and Rs. 800000/- (Rupees Eight Lakhs) under Recurring grant.
  • The total grant of Rs. 28 00 000/- (Rupees Twenty Eight Lakhs) was spent for the development of Research Facilities from the First Phase CPE grant.
  • The second phase CPE grant of Rs. 1.25 Crores (Rupees One Crore Twenty Five Lakhs) of was granted by the UGC in the Second Phase under XII plan (CPE grant F.No. 21-39/2014(PE) Dt: 20-10-2014)

The non-recurring grant of Rs. 8500000/- (Rupees Eighty Five Lakhs) was granted of which Rs. 18,00,000/- (Rupees Eighteen Lakhs) was allocated for Research Activities; hence, % of allocation is 21%.

Research Facilities

  • The grants received from the UGC and the State Government are used to purchase books, journals, equipments, chemicals and other relevant materials for research activities. Free hostel accommodation is given to the research scholars for their work in the laboratories during their stay in the college.
  • Trinocular Microscopes were purchased for the departments of Geology and Botany which are helping in the better study of the microscopic sections.

  • Information Resource Centre is available. Also e-Journals etc., can be accessed through INFLIBNET.
  • Free hostel accommodation is given to the research scholars for their work in the laboratories during their stay in the college.
  • Separate internet centre is provided for all students of the college. This facility is also available to the research scholars. All departments of the college provided with internet facility and thus the research scholars can make use of this facility. The PG Library provides many research journals and research scholars have a provision to make use of this facility.
  • The College Central Library has sufficient facilities to act as an information resource centre. It has good collection of books related to all subjects, e-Journals, e-Books and it is provided with INFLIBNET facility. 
  • The College has Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Central Research Laboratory (CRL) which has computers with internet facility. All research faculty of the college can perform their experimentation by making use of this facility. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Central Reserch Laboratory (CRL) contains all research instruments of faculty interests.
  • The scholars of other universities and students of other colleges make use of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Central Reserch Laboratory (CRL) facility for their study. P. Paul Diwakar, Associate Professor, Department of Physics is acting as a co-guide in the field of Ultrasonics to the research scholars of Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and these scholars are utilizing the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Central Research Laboratory (CRL) facilities for their research.
  • The students of Sir C R Reddy College of Pharmacy are utilizing the FTIR facility in CRL for their study. Nearly 300 students are using the CRL facility with the available instruments.
  • The Computers, Reprography & Internet facilities are provided in COMPRONET Center. This center is free to access for research scholars.
